OUR WORK Choreofilm no (wo)man's land (2007): This work is an exploration of the language of the bible in relation to gender tension in today's society. to each her own (2008): A surreal, evocative film is partnered with concisely powerful movement in this abstract choreofilm. Themes of femininity, generational connection and divide, womanhood, and acceptance of one's past are examined. Dance El Duende (2008): This high energy duet is a study of Flamenco culture and spirituality and its connection to obtaining freedom in performance. The Commemorative Project (2008): An ever-evolving dance/theater piece, this project investigates the emotional stages of facing tragedy. Film Vortex Immersion (2009): This dance film is a visual journey of a woman freeing herself to Nature. Site Work We have improvised as well as performed many of the above works at locations such as Mystic Seaport (Mystic, CT), The New Britain Museum of American Art (New Britain, CT), Grounds for Sculpture (Hamilton, NJ), Monkeytown Theater (Brooklyn, NY), and various outdoor locations in Northern Italy, Brussels and Berlin. We are constantly seeking new locations to gain inspiration and freedom in our performance. Community Partnerships Using our work as a basis for learning, we encourage expressiveness and creativity through dance and film investigation. These workshops can be catered to children and adults of all ages and skill levels. |
